When does 160 cm make more sense than 180 cm?
In a bedroom about 2.8 m wide, a 160 cm bed leaves roughly 60 cm on each side; a 180 cm bed leaves 50 cm. Each sleeper gets 80 cm of width instead of 90 cm.
