Furniture suppliers in Turkey fall into five types: manufacturers, export or trading companies, sourcing agents, marketplace or directory listings, and wholesalers. They can all quote the same sofa, but only one of them controls production, and each adds its own price layer and its own limits on what it can confirm in writing.
This guide is written by ellda mobilya, a furniture manufacturer in Kayseri, Türkiye, producing sofa sets, corner sofas, bed base sets and mattresses since 2010. Search results for this topic are mostly directories and "top suppliers" lists, so we have set out how to tell the supplier types apart, where Turkish furniture is made, and what to check before you send a first order.
Why the search results are mostly lists
Search for furniture suppliers in Turkey and most results are directories, trade-delegation profiles, partner databases and listicles. They are useful for building a long list of names. They rarely tell you whether a company makes the product, buys it from a factory, or simply lists it.
A directory profile is written by the company itself or compiled by the platform. Capacity figures, export claims and photos on these pages are usually not checked. Treat every listing as a lead to verify, not as evidence.
The five types of furniture suppliers in Turkey
A manufacturer makes the product in its own factory and sells it under its own name or yours. An export or trading company buys from one or more factories and sells abroad, often across many product categories. A sourcing agent works for the buyer, for a commission or fee, to find factories and follow orders. A marketplace or directory listing is a profile on a platform; behind it can be any of the other four. A wholesaler holds stock, usually for the domestic market, and resells it.
| Supplier type | Who controls production | Price layers above factory cost | What they can confirm in writing | Main risks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Manufacturer | They do | None | Dimensions, materials used, fabric options, packing, production schedule | Narrower range; you deal with several factories for a wide assortment |
| Export / trading company | The factory they buy from | Their margin | Price, documents, consolidation of several factories | Factory can change between orders; quality questions go through a middle party |
| Sourcing agent | The factory they choose | Commission or fee (sometimes also a factory commission) | Factory visits and inspection reports on your behalf | Conflict of interest if paid by both sides; your relationship sits with the agent |
| Marketplace / directory listing | Unknown until checked | Unknown | Only what the company behind the profile can confirm | Profiles are self-declared; the same product can appear under several sellers |
| Wholesaler | The original producer | Their margin, plus storage | What is in stock now | Limited fabric and size options; repeat orders depend on what they stock next |
None of these types is wrong in itself. A trading company is a sensible choice when you need ten product categories in one container and have no time to manage ten factories. A manufacturer is the better choice when you want control over fabric, dimensions, packing and repeat orders of the same model.
How to tell a manufacturer from a trader
Many trading companies describe themselves as manufacturers. These checks separate the two quickly.
- Trade registry. Every Turkish company is registered with a trade registry office, and registration notices are published in the Turkish Trade Registry Gazette. Ask for the full legal name and check that the registered activity covers furniture production, not only trade.
- Factory address. Ask for the production address, not the office address. Many furniture factories sit in an organised industrial zone (OIZ, "OSB" in Turkish). A plot and street number inside an OIZ is easy to locate on a map; a city-centre office or a shared business-centre address is not a factory.
- Own catalogue with dimensions. A manufacturer can give you its own catalogue with piece-by-piece dimensions and model names that stay the same from one year to the next. A trader often sends mixed catalogues with different layouts, missing dimensions or model names that change between suppliers.
- Production visit. Ask to visit the production floor, not a showroom. A manufacturer can show frames being built, upholstery and sewing, and packing. Arrange the date in advance and ask to see the models you plan to order.
- Direct answers on construction. Ask how a model is made and packed. A manufacturer answers from the production floor; a trader usually has to ask someone else and come back to you.
- Documents from the producer. Manufacturers registered with a chamber of industry can usually show a capacity report (kapasite raporu) issued by that chamber, which names the products the plant is set up to make.
If a supplier is a trader, that is not a reason to walk away. It is a reason to know whose factory makes your order and to put that in the contract.
Where furniture is made in Türkiye
Furniture production in Türkiye is spread across several centres, each with its own character. The descriptions below are general; individual companies in each city vary widely in size and specialism.
- Istanbul. The largest commercial centre, with big furniture trade centres, showrooms, brand head offices and many export and trading companies. A lot of what is sold in Istanbul is made elsewhere.
- İnegöl (Bursa). A dense cluster of furniture producers and component suppliers in north-west Türkiye, covering wooden furniture as well as upholstery.
- Kayseri. A central Anatolian production centre with a large organised industrial zone, known for upholstered seating, sofa beds, bed bases and mattresses.
- Ankara (Siteler). A long-established district of small and medium workshops and furniture shops, mostly serving the domestic market.
- İzmir. An Aegean production and trade centre close to the region's export ports.
- Adana. A southern centre that also appears in the official list of main production regions.
The Ministry of Trade's Kolay İhracat sector page lists the main production regions, by share of output, as Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa (İnegöl), Kayseri, İzmir and Adana. A city tells you little about a single supplier, though. Ask the questions above to each company, wherever it is.
Turkish furniture exports in numbers
Türkiye's furniture exports reached about US$4.6 billion in 2025, up 1.8% on 2024, according to Kolay İhracat. The same page names Iraq, Germany, the USA, France and Romania as the main markets. The Turkish furniture industrialists' association TAİF places Türkiye seventh among the world's furniture exporters, as reported by Türkiye Today. The figure of more than US$8 billion that also circulates combines furniture with paper and forestry products.
For a buyer, these numbers mean two things. There are many experienced exporters to choose from, and many of them already work with export packing, shipping documents and buyers abroad. They also mean the supplier market is crowded, which is exactly why the checks above matter. Figures as of October 2026.
Before you send an enquiry: a short checklist
- Full legal company name, checked against the trade registry
- Production address, ideally in an OIZ, checked on a map
- The supplier's own catalogue with piece dimensions
- A clear answer to "do you make this model yourselves?"
- Fabric and colour options per model, confirmed in writing
- Packing method and a loading plan for your container
- Price, lead time, minimum quantities and delivery terms stated in the quote
- A named contact and the languages you can work in

Where ellda mobilya fits
ellda mobilya is a manufacturer. We make sofa sets, corner sofas, bed base sets and mattresses in our own 10,500 m² factory in Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone. Our catalogue lists 80 models in four product groups with piece dimensions, and the 2026 furniture and 2025 bedding catalogues are available as PDFs with model names in Turkish and English.
Buyers and prospective dealers can visit the factory by appointment, and our production page shows the steps from order approval to packing. Because all four product groups come from one factory, they can be combined in one shipment. Price, lead time, minimum quantities and shipping terms depend on the models and destination, so we state them in the quote rather than on the website. We work in English, Arabic and Turkish.
Next step
Shortlist models from the catalogue, note the quantities and destination, and send them through our export page. If you buy for a store or a wholesale business, the wholesale furniture page explains how a trade order works, and you can also build a quote list directly from the catalogue.
